The wedding will be outside in the garden so my advice is to watch the weather and plan accordingly. It’s the end of October in Washington DC which means it could be in the 70’s and sunny or cold and pouring rain and after this winter, who really knows. Keep in mind that the ceremony is at 2 pm but the reception doesn’t end until 7pm so there will be a drop in temperature as the evening goes on and you have outside access throughout the event. Dinner is held under a large tent and the reception is held in a permanent building attached to the tent. If it rains, the wedding ceremony will be held in the same building as the reception.

It’s an outside wedding in the afternoon, so nothing to formal. Most importantly come in something that is weather appropriate and has plenty of space for eating and gives you the mobility to dance and celebrate.

Ladies, I would highly recommend wearing flats or shoes other than high heels since the ground maybe soft at this time of the year.
